The St Mary’s lifeboat was called out just before lunchtime yesterday.

A 45-foot French-registered yacht with five people on board appeared to have its propeller tangled up with lobster pot lines.

The tripper boat Osprey responded to the first calls for assistance.

Falmouth Coastguard was contacted at 11.15am and lifeboat volunteers were sent to the location, just East of Jacky’s Rock  in the Western Rocks.

The stricken yacht was towed into the harbour at around 12.20pm and divers removed the rope.
