Roadworks Update Aug 4th 2014: Overnight Offloading

lagan1The offloading of the River Trader will be delayed this evening says St Mary’s Harbourmaster Dale Clark. That is to allow the Gry to discharge between 5.30pm and 7 .30pm.

Lagan’s plant will move into position – wheeled excavator and tractors with empty trailers- during the late afternoon. It is likely that they will need to move aggregate from the quay, through the town up to the airport, on 2 consecutive nights, tonight and Tuesday.

The vehicle route will be along the Quay, via Hugh Street, Church Street, the Old School, Telegraph Road, Parting Carn Farm and up to the airport site. The return journey will be the same with the empty trailers passing along the Strand rather than Church Street.

Lagan will be operating six tractors and trailers in three pairs whilst the bulk of the material is offloaded.
