Porthcressa Beach Closure

On Wednesday 23rd works will be undertaken to install a sub-sea superfast broadband cable at Porthcressa.

Works are estimated to be completed within three days, weather permitting.

Two excavators will pull a cable that will be floated ashore and buried two metres below ground

level on the beach. The St Mary’s Harbour vessel Pegasus will be involved in the operation, too.

The entire beach will be cordoned off on 23rd. Areas restricted on the 24th and 25th (Thursday and Friday) will be signposted.

In addition, a temporary site office will be situated in the car park at the rear of the Town Hall so parking will be limited for the duration of the works.
