Roadworks Update: Friday 18th July

From Radio Scilly

St Mary’s Harbourmaster Dale Clark with an update on works planned over the next few days.

Dale Clark says the unloading of bitumen from the River Trader has been delayed overnight because of the large electrical storm last night.

Dale says the vessel is now at anchor to allow the landing craft Arromanche to discharge some freight for the airport project.

The River Trader will not be able to complete its unloading until the Gry Maritha departs early tomorrow morning. Dale says the material will be brought through town on normal lorries, rather than the large trailers seen recently.

The River Trader’s sister vessel, the Martin, will be arriving with a full load of aggregate early next week and Dale says there’ll be another night of unloading.
