The owners of a successful St Martin’s flower business got the chance to meet the Countess of Wessex at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show.

Ben and Zoe Julian of Churchtown Farm were finalists for the Duke of Cornwall’s Award for farm diversification, which is presented at the show.

Sadly they weren’t successful and neither was the other nominated Scilly business, Troytown Farm on St Agnes.

But the Julians did get to meet the Countess at a tea party, along with other people who made the shortlist.

The winner was Tim Blackshire of Levalsa Farm near St Austell. He uses his farm to train young people who have been excluded from school. Ben says he was, “a very worthy winner and a lovely enthusiastic chap.”
