Hugh Town Café Could Switch To Private Residence

nornour-cafeSt Mary’s is set to lose another eating establishment.

The owner of Nornour Café has applied for for a change-of-use request. That means it could follow the former Porthcressa Inn and convert from a restaurant to a private residence.

Owner Liz Heslin has run the food establishment there for two seasons. The building previously hosted Chez Michel bistro.

Liz says she wants to convert the ground floor into a safer space in which to look after her grandchildren. She’s written to councillors to say she’s tried to sell the building without success and there’s a property with a similar planning use nearby. The Corner House has been on the market for some time.

Nornour can’t be subdivided without greatly affecting her privacy, she says. Councillors will decide on the application on May 15th.

Please do not close ,at least till end of July , Liz , as we are planning to visit you on regular basis during our annual stay. Would obviously prefer you continue as now for many years . Eateries such as this are rare in Scilly and Nornour is also popular with many of our friends.
    STAY OPEN LIZ !!
