More Help Needed To Clean Up Porthcressa

scilly spring clean 2014The Council is asking islanders to help clean up Porthcressa Beach again on Sunday.

Last week around fifty locals turned out to clear up sand blown onto the bank by the St Valentine’s Day storm and Assistant Chief Executive Craig Dryden said more help would be needed to finish the job.

The Council will provide gloves, bags, shovels and wheelbarrows but anyone with their own equipment is asked to bring it along.

Last week wheelbarrows were is short supply.

It’s hoped that a second session will finish the clearance work in time for the Easter break. The clean is being held from 11am to 1pm.
