Police Help Man Lost in Fog

police landrover backSt Mary’s Police say a seasonal worker is lucky to be alive after he became disorientated on a drunken walk.

The man in his 20s spent Friday night drinking wine with new colleagues in his staff accommodation in town.

When he realised he had drunk too much, he went for a walk but became disorientated in the fog and fell into undergrowth near Longstone.

His cries for help were heard from a resident who contacted police. The man was taken back to his accommodation.

Sergeant Colin Taylor says it is lucky that he was found and he could easily have succumbed to hypothermia.

The man wants to thank the local who heard his call and dialled 999.
