A Cornish adventure company is promoting Scilly as a destination for kite surfing.

The sport has grown in popularity amongst islanders over the last decade and Perranporth-based kite surfing school, Mobius has visited most years to train locals.

But later this month they’re bringing over mainland visitors for the first time, for a 3-day course.

Louise McOver from Mobius says if there’s interest, they could add more lessons and train tourists later in the year.

Although Cornwall has the wind and good beaches, says Louise, our flat and shallow waters between the islands mean Scilly is one of the best places in Europe for training kite surfers.

And it’s perfect for learning tricks when the wind is right, she says.

It’s always a bit of a gamble that there’ll be enough wind, but Louise says there’s usually a good chance and they’ll come over, whatever the weather.

Locals can also book onto the course.

The 3-day BKSA course runs from the 24th to 28th of April and you can find details here.
