Islands’ Partnership Looking For Quirky Facts About Scilly

porthloo viewWe all know that Scilly is the one of most unique parts of England, but the Islands’ Partnership is hoping to prove it and put our destination in the spotlight.

The tourism body has already shown how the islands can make an impact despite our size, with Fraser Hicks’ selection as a finalist in the national Tourism Superstar contest.

Now they are looking for suggestions for why we should be included in VisitEngland’s Hall Of Fame.

Carolyn Garman from the Islands’ Partnership says it’s a fun opportunity to sing about Scilly and to continue to promote ourselves as a great visitor destination

She says the Partnership is looking to uncover quirky but brilliant facts about Scilly’s history or heritage. And she’s hoping to get some priceless gems.

The team intend to submit the best ideas to VisitEngland and they may be used in their own ‘Top 10’ for Scilly.

Suggestions can be sent to enquiries@islandspartnership.co.uk and if you come up with one of England’s best examples, you could win weekend break.
