Long Serving Members Of School Football Club Thanked

football childrenTwo long serving members of the Five Islands School Football Club have been thanked for their efforts over the years.

Sarah Handy and Jo Evans stepped down from the committee at Wednesday’s AGM.

Committee member Helen Glenn says the meeting wasn’t that well attended because of previous commitments, but some new recruits did respond to appeals for new members.

The next major club event will be the visit of coaches from Plymouth Argyle over the last weekend in March.

There’s been further discussion on a name change. Last year the school’s governing body discussed the club’s use of the school name. Some governors felt it could lead to confusion, as the club is not run by the school.

It was suggested that the name could change to Five Islands Junior Football Club. Club officials will discuss that with school head Linda Todd before any change is made.
