Oldest Wing Walker Planning Scilly Stunt This Summer

airport from aboveA 93-year-old man is intending to walk on the wings of a plane flying between Land’s End and St Mary’s this summer.

Tom Lackey from the West Midlands has raised around £1million for charity since he started his brave stunts at the age of 85.

He already holds ten Guinness World Record titles as the oldest wing walker in the world.

Tom began his fundraising for the British Heart Foundation after his wife died suddenly. Ten years ago he suffered a stroke and has since raised cash for the Stroke Association.

He’s also raising cash for cancer charities and says he boosts funds with talks to women’s groups about his experiences.

Tom says he wanted to walk on the wings of his friend’s Boeing Spearman whilst flying to Scilly because it’s never been done before.

His supporters have arranged clearance from the aviation authorities for his previous stunts and Tom says he hopes to perform the challenge on May 22nd. That’s the date of his 94th birthday.
