A new position is being created within the Duchy of Cornwall in Scilly.

They’re recruiting a Deputy Land Steward.

Job adverts for the role, which will pay up to £53,000 a year, have been finalised.

The postholder will negotiate new tenancy agreements, arrange rent reviews and will be expected to manage debtors while hitting income budget targets.

Land Steward Chris Gregory says the new recruit will free up some of his time in day-to-day property management, so he can take up some additional duties on the mainland in the autumn.

There are 250 residential properties let by the Duchy in Scilly and 690 total lettings.

Chris  says he  will remain responsible for the Duchy’s properties but he’ll focus more on strategic management, which he says he has had insufficient time to invest in of late.

The successful applicant will be based on the islands.
