Cycling Holiday Company To Include Scilly In Tours This Summer

bikes in rackA company providing cycling holidays in Cornwall is to include Scilly in their schedules for the first time this summer.

Lanyon Rowe from Cornish Cycle Holidays has made some test visits to Scilly in the past few years and says the people who took part loved them.

In fact, it was his customers who’ve asked him to incorporate the islands in future tours.

The self-guided biking holidays start and end at Wadebridge in Cornwall but include a three-day trip to St Mary’s travelling by the Scillonian.

Tourists are given directions to their next accommodation and their luggage is taken on ahead by car.

Lanyon says the guests often cycle around 17 miles a day during the mainland sectors and the islands will provide a more relaxed break, where they can explore at their own pace without a schedule to keep.

And they shouldn’t be disappointed that there’s only seven miles of road on St Mary’s.

The groups will use bikes supplied by St Mary’s Bike Hire while they’re here.

Lanyon says they’ve only just started to advertise this year’s packages, but a few people have already booked and is optimistic that the tours including Scilly will be a huge success.
