St Mary’s residents and businesses may need to store up water for use on Thursday.

The Council say they might need to turn off supplies around the town as they investigate a leak. But they don’t know whether there will be disruption until they see what’s causing the problem.

Hugh Street will be shut off from around 8am between the Paper Shop and The Atlantic Slip, where the problem lies, whilst the work is done.

Council press officer George Pearson says blue badge holders will be allowed through but other motorists will be sent on a diversion along Garrison Lane and Jerusalem Terrace. Again, it’s not clear how long the road closure will be in force.
