town hall windows signThe change of the Council’s senior ranks is continuing with the advertisement of two new roles.

A new Head of Infrastructure is being sought to manage essential services on the islands, such as waste and recycling, water supply, sewerage services, public highways, cemeteries and open spaces.

They’ll also be responsible for the airport.

The second post, a Head of Strategic Development and Environmental Services, will cover planning, the environment and economic development.

They’ll be expected to attract government and European funding for areas such as housing and transport infrastructure.

Both positions will pay in the region of £50,000 to £60,000 and will be managed by the Director of Place, Craig Dryden.

Interviews are being held in early February.

Community Relations Officer George Pearson says the recruitment is the latest stage in the Council’s restructuring process.

They’re currently advertising for a new Director of People, covering Adult and Children’s Services, through a specialist agency.

They’re also planning to appoint a new Head of Resources, the most senior financial role, soon.
