Scilly’s Charity Shop Offering Rich Pickings This Week

police lost propertyShoppers at the Church Hall charity shop will be able to choose from a range of valuable items over the next week.

St Mary’s police are handing over unclaimed phones, cameras, watches and rucksacks as they clear out their lost property cupboard.

They only have to hold on to items for a month but many have been in their store for three months or more.

All attempts to trace the owners have failed.

On the mainland, unclaimed personal goods would usually go to a police auction website but PC Faye Webb says in Scilly, officers wanted to help a local cause.

Faye says data cards, which could possibly hold personal information, are removed from the devices.
