Christmas Carols And Crafts Support Cancer Charity

christmas fair tregarthens 2013

Islanders packed Tregarthen’s Hotel last night for the Christmas Market, the seasonal fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.

The event has relocated there from St Mary’s Hall Hotel, where it had been held twice, because that venue is remaining closed this winter.

The Scilly Sirens and the jazz band entertained the crowds who also had a chance to browse twenty local craft stalls, all of which had paid £5 to the charity to attend.

Beryl Read organised the fundraiser. She says she’s grateful to locals who support the cause, not just at last night’s event but also throughout the year.

Beryl says the islands have raised over £11,000 for the charity this year.
