Police Investigating Theft Of Wooden Poles

Police light 2Police are seeking witnesses to the theft of several large wooden poles.

They were bought by the Council for an activity area at the Porthcressa play park, for use in a rope rail up the slope.

Sergeant Colin Taylor says this isn’t an opportunist theft.

The wood was stored behind two locked doors and away from public view, behind the Carn Thomas Children’s Centre. And he says the thief would have used a vehicle to shift the 5-foot high wood, which had a 1-foot width.

The matter has only just been made public and happened between the 5th and 6th of November. Police are treating it as theft.

The removal of the posts will delay the opening of the feature at Porthcressa.
