Hugh Town Businesses Planning To ‘Knock Through’

The Atlantic Inn

The Atlantic Inn

Islanders have until the end of today to tell planners what they think about plans to join the Atlantic Inn with the Atlantic Hotel.

St Austell Brewery bosses have been discussing plans to link the 25-bedroom hotel with the pub for three years.

They’re proposing knocking through the wall at the rear of the two properties and installing two pairs of glazed, folding doors.

They say that the internal walls were constructed around 25 years ago and are not load bearing.

There are no external changes so planners will be able to make a ruling with their delegated power.

Both St Austell Brewery directors whom we approached yesterday were unavailable for comment.
