Council Awards Moorwell Clearance Contract

rubbish dump 3Councillors have awarded the contract to start the removal of the Moorwell Alp in a closed-door session yesterday.

But the Council can’t release which one of the three applicants got the job.

Tendering rules mean the companies who were unsuccessful have ten days to mount a challenge if they feel proper process hasn’t been followed.

The contractor will be expected to take away over 2,000 tons of the shredded black bag waste, which makes up much of the mound, ideally before March 31st the end of the financial year.
