Neville Gardner receives his leaving gift from Chairman Amanda Martin

The Council Chairman thanked their longest serving officer as he prepares to leave the Authority after 39 years.

Amanda Martin presented Chief Technical Officer Neville Gardner with a leaving gift , a   framed painting by a local artist, at his last Full Council meeting yesterday.

Neville said the organisation had a fundamental role to play in the future of the islands and he wished it every success in what are likely to be very difficult times ahead.

He said he’d worked with gifted and able colleagues in his time, adding that he’d never had to look at the clock and wonder when the working day was going to end.
