Big Drop In Vehicle Prohibitions In Scilly Say Police

police landrover backSt Mary’s police are reporting a sizeable drop in the number of vehicles that have been forced off the road because they’ve been found to be defective.

Two specialist road traffic officers have been on St Mary’s this week and there were just five prohibition notices issued.

This time last year there were over thirty.

Bald tyres, headlight and exhaust faults were the problems that needed attention.

But police say there needs to be greater use of seat belts and they’re “running short” of reasons not to prosecution offenders.
