Car Wash To Raise Funds For Fire Fighters’ Charity

fire station signYou can have you car washed today and help raise money for the National Fire Fighters’ charity at the same time.

Fire crew across the country are cleaning vehicles today to bring in cash for the organisation. It costs them £9m each year to run a free, confidential and impartial helpline for fire and rescue workers.

They also have three centres in Devon, Cumbria and West Sussex offering recuperation breaks, which can aid emotional recovery following illness, injury, or bereavement.

Station Officer Declan Ridsdale says fire crew from Scilly have used these centres in the past.

Staff will be washing cars at the Rechabite Slip from 9.30am to 12 noon.
