St Mary’s Police say they’re disappointed and disgusted that someone has stolen from a Cornwall Air Ambulance collection box.

It was half full, so it’s thought around £25 was contained in the collection, inside a recycled goods craft shop that raises cash for the charity adjacent to Porthloo Farm.

PC Faye Webb says she doesn’t want to discourage islanders from placing charity boxes and honesty boxes.

But she recommends people empty them regularly whenever possible. Unfortunately some are sealed ready for return to the charity

The money was taken yesterday and Faye says she’d welcome any information.
