Scilly’s Ambulance Service Meeting Callout Time Target

ambulance 4The ambulance service in Scilly has attended 261 emergency calls so far this year.

That’s just over one a day, although the numbers are 9% down on the same period last year, when there were 291 call outs.

Local paramedic Wayne Davey says the longest time to reach a patient on the islands has been a fraction under eight minutes.

It means all calls here on the islands were achieved within the government’s eight-minute target and compares to around 76% in the South West region as a whole.
