Scilly’s MP Says Further Syria Votes Should Be Considered

Last week, Scilly’s MP spoke against and voted against a Government motion for military action in Syria.

Now Andrew George says Parliament should keep the situation under review and that further Parliamentary debates and votes on the issue should be considered, if necessary.

Mr George said he voted against the Government last week because he felt a military strike at this stage would run the risk of making the situation worse.

But the Lib Dem MP says the vote last week should not be interpreted as Parliament “turning its back on the people” there and the extremely volatile and tragic circumstances in Syria.
