Coastguard Called After Holidaymaker Goes Missing

coastguard 2The St Mary’s Coastguard team were in action last night following reports that a vulnerable female holidaymaker had gone missing.

Falmouth Coastguard were contacted by people concerned that a 27 year old, who was here with her family, had left Juliet’s Garden and may have walked off and got into difficulty.

She hadn’t been seen for four hours and there were concerns she may have fallen into the sea. St Mary’s Lifeboat crew were also alerted.

The local Coastguard team were mobilised at around 7.30pm and Tago Macleod of Falmouth Coastguard says the team used a Canadian method, called behavioural profiling, to identify where she might have gone.

They believed it was unlikely that she travelled more than 500m.

The woman was spotted in the vicinity of the restaurant 45 minutes later and taken to the police station to be reunited with her family.
