Islands’ Partnership To Undertake Visitor Exit Survey

The Islands’ Partnership is recruiting a worker, who’ll undertake a short, 12-question interview with tourists for 21 hours a week over a 4-week period.

A great deal of data on visitor experiences and views has been collected recently, by bodies like the former Islands Tourism and the Blue Sail consultants.

The Council is also currently undertaking a large scale transport questionnaire.

But Partnership Manager Amanda Pender says this survey will tackle a range of questions that haven’t been posed by the other recent questionnaires.

These include whether we need more signage to help people find points of interest on the islands and where else people holiday before or after they come to our islands.

Amanda says they’d also like to see how long it takes from when someone first thinks about visiting Scilly to actually booking.

The survey results will help shape the promotion of the islands and the data could support grant bids for the new tourism body.

Anyone interested in applying for the role should contact Amanda at the Islands’ Partnership.
