Visit Britain TV Features Short Film On Scilly

visit britain videoScilly is being featured on a new online TV channel that showcases the best holiday destinations in the country.

Visit Britain’s website gives tourists from the UK and abroad a chance to watch short films in the hope this will inspire them to visit more unusual destinations.

The five-minute video shows the presenter arriving on a Skybus Twin Otter plane, horse riding on Pelistry beach, taking a tour of Tresco Abbey Gardens and observing seals on a sea safari.

Two thirds of the cost of the film was paid for by the Islands’ Partnership with the rest being funded by Visit Britain.

Partnership manager, Amanda Pender, said it’s a great chance to showcase what the islands have to offer to a much wider audience.

That view was echoed by Visit Britain’s David Leslie, who said it’s a small snapshot of what to do in Scilly.

“It’s always good that we can try to entice people beyond the usual destinations,” he said.

Amanda says the Partnership will also be able to use the video on their own website.
