Teenagers Rescued In Water Off St Mary’s Today

The St Mary’s Lifeboat was alerted to an incident at Watermill on St Mary’s here in Scilly, this afternoon.

A member of the public dialed 999 at around 1.25pm after seeing two teenage girls who appeared to be in difficulty 500 meters off the shore .They were being swept out on a small inflatable.

The girls were picked up by the skipper of a passing boat and taken back to their grandparents. Falmouth Coastguard say that the Lifeboat was stood down. The teenagers had left the area before St Mary’s coastguard members were able to offer water safety advice.
