Trinity House Staff Spend Week On Islands

bishop rock from st agnesTrinity House have spent the last week working on the islands’ maritime navigation aids.

Staff from the organisation, which is responsible for most buoys, markers and lighthouses, fitted a new base to the Woolpack beacon on the southeast corner of the Garrison.

They have been operating from their 24m launch, the MV Mair.

Crew also worked on the Crow beacon near Bar Point.

On Friday, the Trinity House vessel ‘Patricia’, which is seen regularly in the islands’ waters, continued their maintenance and inspection programme at Round Island lighthouse. She was also used for inspecting several of the larger buoys such as ‘Gunner’ and the ‘Steeple’.
