Applause For Crew At Annual Lifeboat Service

lifeboat rnli flag and harbourSunday saw the annual St Mary’s Lifeboat service moved inside the Methodist Church following earlier showers and a risk of rain.

The well-attended service was conducted by Reverend Charlie Gibbs and Canon Michael Fisher.

Michael, who is from Padstow, is covering Canon Miller’s leave.

The lifeboat crew were applauded when they entered the service and Chris Thomas says that the islands has a very good mix of both very experienced crew members and an enthusiastic group of young crew.

They have been working hard training at the St Mary’s station and at the Lifeboat College in Poole.

Chris says the islands’ Community is very proud of them and he has nothing but admiration for what they do. They work very saving lives, he says
