Lifeboat Called To Assist Pilot Cutter

lifeboat close upThe St Mary’s lifeboat had its fifth call-out of the year yesterday.

It was launched just after 11am to tow in the pilot cutter ‘Madcap,’ which was 10 miles south west of the Bishop Rock.

Falmouth Coastguard say the boat, which had three people on board, couldn’t steer because the rudder had broken. They were trying to use buckets as a replacement.

The crew finished up at 2.45pm when the boat was put on a mooring in St Mary’s Harbour.
