Council Dropping Price Of Porthcressa Work Units

porthcressa open day 2013The Council has dropped the price of the new Porthcressa business units after one prospective tenant pulled out because they felt it was too expensive.

Investment Manager Diana Mompoloki says she’s not concerned about the withdrawal. She says the European funders, ERDF, expect around 60% of new properties will be empty over the first two years.

And she points out that London’s iconic Shard building is just 1% rented.

The Council has reduced the price for the first two years to £300 a month with a £10 service charge.

The units were created as part of the recent £4.5m redevelopment and can be used for office-based or service industries, except financial services.

You can sell from the units only if you make your goods on site.

Diana is convinced that there’s demand for the workspaces, even though the Council is now re-advertising them.

Every applicant will need a business plan, to show their figures stack up.
