Council Hosting Mole Checking Clinic

sports hall 2The Council is now responsible for public health promotion in Scilly and their first event at the new Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre will address a health concern in our area.

Scilly and Cornwall has the highest UV levels in the UK and comes top of the list for the incidence of skin cancer.

The Council along with Healthwatch are hosting a mole-checking clinic next Tuesday with a dermatologist travelling over from the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Aisling Hick says early detection can make all the difference for this type of cancer, which is highly treatable if caught early.

The session is at the former primary school at Carn Gwaval between 9am and 4pm.
