Cricket: Tresco v St Mary’s

cricket bowlerReport by Mark Twynham

Tresco won the toss and decided to field.

Kane Goddard and Darius opened the batting, Kane scoring 72 runs in a fine innings.

Darius was the first wicket to fall for 3  runs. James Francis then came in and him and Kane took the score to 100.

Liam Greenlaw made a fine 20 and Mark Twynham entered the scene with a superb 40 off just 16 balls, taking the St Mary’s total off 20 overs to 175.

Tresco opened their batting with Dave Hamilton and his son Luke. Both played really well, getting Tresco off to a fast start, with 50 coming off the first 6 overs.

Luke then fell to Tony Gilbert although Dave went on to make a further 50 runs.

But Tresco fell 40 runs short, making 135 off their 20 overs.

Man of the Match was Kane Goddard.

It was nice to see 16-year-old Luke Hamilton playing so well with the bat and making some fantastic shots.
