Former BIH Company Says There Are No Plans To Launch New Passenger Service

helicopter at airportThe former Chief Executive of British International Helicopters says there are no plans to restart a route to the islands following the formation of a new company, Newquay Helicopters Ltd.

Tony Jones, who is listed as the head of the new company formed earlier this month, says it’s been created simply to wind up the remaining assets of British International, after its equipment and military contracts were sold to Patriot Aviation.

Tony says there is a helicopter and spare parts which were not sold as part of the deal. The new company is managing those assets in the short term and has no intention to run commercial services.

And he says they’re not connected to the plans discussed by MP Andrew George to run a route to the islands using new AgustaWestland aircraft.
