Islands Partnership Start Work On Next Year’s Brochure

simply scilly brochure 2011_12The Islands’ Partnership has started work on next year’s Simply Scilly brochure and they’ve indicated that they want something new and fresh.

Manager Amanda Pender says the current brochure has been very popular with both visitors and the tourism industry, but it’s time to make the most of what they’ve learnt about the target audience and to develop something that better meets their aspirations.

Phill Gendall of marketing agency Wolf Rock, who designed the very successful pavilion at the recent Royal Cornwall Show, will be leading the design.

Amanda says feedback from local businesses is essential to get it right and they’ll be working closely with the newly-formed Accommodation Sector group.

And she says the new brochure will continue to feature accommodation listings, although she’s asking businesses to focus on the quality of the photos they provide for the publication.

The Partnership have organised a four-day photo shoot to get new images for the brochure.

They want these to be more emotive and to feature activities like children fishing or playing with toy boats by the water and families having barbecues.

Amanda says it’s important that the photos try to capture how people feel when they’re here.

She says there will also be improvements to the Simply Scilly website rolled out over the next couple of months.
