Partnership Encouraging Locals To Enter Tourism Awards

islands partnership logoThe Islands Partnership, Scilly’s new tourism body, is encouraging local businesses to enter as many awards as possible.

Joint manager Amanda Pander says gaining recognition is good for the islands and the business involved and it motivates staff.

Amanda’s recommending that locals enter the Cornwall Tourism Awards.

Their deadline has been extended until 5th July and applicants for the ‘Outstanding Customer Service’ category have until August 30th.

Entry is free for any of the sixteen categories, including Best Pub, B&B, Hotel and Sustainable Tourism Business.

Amanda says the Partnership had been advising applicants and they’ve had an excellent response. She hopes that Scilly will continue to “shout loudly” that we’re open and we have the ability to offer the discerning visitor an unforgettable holiday experience.

Success in the regional awards could bring national publicity. The Southwest winners will go on to represent the region at the Visit England awards.
