Man Apologises For Taking Bike Without Permission

Police light 2St Mary’s police have agreed that a local man in his 20’s can write a letter of apology to the community after he admitted taking a bike without the owners consent.

The man was questioned under caution and made a full admission.

Sergeant Colin Taylor chased the man up Church Road at 2.30am on the morning of May 5th when he suspected the bike didn’t belong to the rider.

Colin took the bike back to the station but needed to find the owner before he could take further action. It’s taken weeks to find out whose bike it was, after a photo was put on the police Facebook page.

Colin say he won’t be so lenient with the next person who takes a bike without consent and the could result in a caution or a charge to court, depending on their age.
