Mont Blanc Adventure Heading For Holgate’s Green

mont blanc high ropes adventureThe Council has unveiled its latest family adventure challenge.

Over the past two years, Town Hall staff have brought over a mobile rock climbing wall and an ice rink. This year, children and families will have a chance to ‘scale Mont Blanc’ over the first weekend in June.

The Children’s Services team has hired the same high rope adventure challenge that was used for entertaining the crowds between races at the British Grand Prix last year. Users will be harnessed to safety wires and children and parents will be able to undertake a series of obstacle challenges from a platform suspended four metres above Holgate’s Green.

Organiser Jim Johnson says the Council arrange these events because they are entertaining and offer youngsters the chance to gain experiences that their mainland counterparts enjoy.

And Jim says parents are welcome to see how they perform on the challenge too.

More people will be able to use the Mont Blanc activity than the climbing wall last year, so users shouldn’t have to wait around for their go. Users will need to book an hour-long slot.

Unfortunately children under 1.1m tall can’t take part and all under 18’s will need to gain parental consent. You can reserve places on 423680.
