Interim Adult And Social Care Contract Extended

Park House

The man who has been heading up Adult, Social and Community Care on the islands has been given a three-month extension to his contract.

Clive Acraman was seconded from Peninsula Community Health last November.

It means he will be taking over as the registered manager of Park House until a replacement can be recruited for Lesley Burrows, who has announced her retirement and leaves this week.

Unannounced inspections from the Care Quality Commission last autumn and earlier this year found that, although the home was treating people with respect and dignity, there were several areas where it was not meeting the required standards.

Dr Acraman drew up an improvement plan for Park House in December but only took over its implementation at the beginning of March, after the sudden resignation of former Adult Social Care Manager, Jonny Lawrence-Roberts.

The Council has found a temporary replacement for Mr Lawrence-Roberts as Adult Social Care Manager. They’ve recruited Jill Pearson, who joins from a community mental health team in Northumberland.

Her experience ranges across children as well as adults and older people and includes dealing with substance abuse as well as arranging and delivering care packages. She will be based in the Adult Social Care Hub office at St Mary’s Hospital.
