Skybus Warning Of Flight Disruption Again On Wednesday

lands end airport signThe Isles of Scilly Steamship Company is warning passengers that they may not be able to fly for a second day.

The company says Land’s End Skybus flights may be grounded by fog again on Wednesday although conditions at Newquay and Exeter could be better.

Chief Executive Jeff Marston says they’ve been trying to help the public make informed decisions about their travel plans with as much notice as possible and that’s why they took the decision to call off today’s flights, based on weather predictions.

Jeff says the vast majority of passengers would have been unable to fly today because of poor visibility, primarily on the mainland. In the last hour fog has now enveloped the islands too.

Jeff says the decision to give information at the earliest possible opportunity is based on feedback and the company aiming to continually improve customer service. Anybody who is scheduled to fly from Land’s End tomorrow is being offered a transfer to the Scillonian III.

The boat set sail from St Mary’s this afternoon with around 150 extra passengers on board.

More likely trying to circumnavigate recent legislation that requires airlines to pay compensation for cancelled flights.

I mean how can they transfer someone from the plane to the boat and not refund the difference?

Nobby what you need to do is when they cancel your flight ask for a refund not a transfer once they have done this book a ticket on the boat.

        Cheers Phil 🙂

One also has to question why a day return on Skybus costs £88 but returning the next day costs £152?

Its the same amount of air miles being used so why the doubling of the fare. This is the trouble of having a single provider, they can do what they like.

Come on Marion, in this instance your efforts are being appreciated.
