New Pharmacy Under Construction At Health Centre

St Mary's Health Centre

The Health Centre

Building work has started on a new pharmacy at the Isles of Scilly Health Centre.

It’s being moved into the former admin office at the rear of the building and will have a separate entrance, meaning it can have its own opening hours.

Helen Pearce will be continuing as the Pharmacist.

Lead GP, Dr John Garman, said the new pharmacy will operate 40 hours a week and the practice will be working closely with patients to determine the most convenient times. This will certainly include Saturdays, says John.

The new pharmacy will be able to provide some enhanced services. For example if a visitor forgets their medication, a pharmacist can prescribe replacements without them having to see a GP. The pharmacy will also offer extended over-the-counter sales.

It’s expected to open on 1st June.
