Bishop Meets Chair Of School Governors

bishop truro tim thorntonThe Chairman of the Five Islands School governing body has met with the Bishop of Truro in efforts to improve their relationship with the Diocese.

The Five Islands School is a church school and Ben Julian says it’s recognised that the relationship has been through a “sticky patch” recently, following the resignation of the former head teacher last year.

Ben says the meeting went well and claims that the bishop is, “clearly a fan of the islands.”

A Diocese spokesperson said that the relationship with the school is very important and Bishop Tim Thornton will visit in June to meet the new head teacher and spend time with staff and pupils.

He expressed support for the governing body and said he was keen to find ways in which the Diocese could offer further backing for their work, which he describes as vital.
