Scilly’s Council Says Complaints Website Doesn’t Work

town hall windows signThe Council has confirmed that their on-line ‘Compliments, Comments or Complaints’ web site doesn’t actually work.

Director of Finance, Peter Lawrence-Roberts said it appears there is a problem with this site and that the Council is investigating.

Last month, councillors agreed an overhaul of how complaints are dealt with, following a Freedom of Information request about their complaints procedures.

They agreed that complaints needed to be recorded and acknowledged within three days, with a response issued by a senior officer within 15 days.

Community Relations officer George Pearson also attended a Local Government Ombudsman course where new guidance was discussed. But yesterday George told us he wasn’t even aware of the Council’s complaints website and said he hadn’t received any complaints via this route.

George advised Radio Scilly that complaints to the Council should be sent either by email or by written letter.
