St Mary’s police say they are investigating a theft at Park House.

Radio Scilly understands the amount is around £200 and police have confirmed that it was not a theft from a resident’s room.

Sergeant Colin Taylor says he was contacted by management and has discussed improved security arrangements that have now been put in place.

Director of Community Services, Penny Penn-Howard, was not available to comment but Finance Director Peter Lawrence-Roberts says the Council takes this extremely seriously.

He said they will be seeking to learn lessons from what has happened and ensure that procedures and systems are strengthened in such a way as to minimise the risk of such a thing happening again.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them or pass on details anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
