Scilly has partnered with VisitEngland on a new marketing drive, encouraging people to visit the country’s coastline.

The islands are included in the ‘Coastal Escapes’ campaign, which will promote short breaks to six of England’s most spectacular coastal locations.

Dave Meneer from the Scilly Tourism and Business Partnership said he was thrilled to be part of the project. He said Scilly is the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle and recharge in stunning coastal surroundings, so it was only natural to be included in the new campaign.

With the Scillonian III refitted and sailing on 25th March and the new terminal opening at Land’s End Airport next month, plus the shuttle service from Penzance train station, travel to the Isles of Scilly has never been more comfortable, he said.

The campaign is part of VisitEngland’s £49m ‘Growing Tourism Locally’, project, which aims to get UK residents to take more holidays and short breaks at home rather than travelling abroad.
