You’re comments are, as ever valid, my Nobby friend but I thought that we had a coalition government, one that still supports and subsidizes the Scottish Highlands and Islands and a collection of rocks in the South Atlantic. Correct me if I’m wrong, though I’m sure you need no encouragement to do so, but wasn’t it a Lib. Dem. minister who eventually said no to a new boat?( Quite frankly I was making no allusion to the helicopter service merely an affordable, reliable, link of some sort)
As for giving the guy a break, he’s paid well for a doing a job, let’s just hope he does the job well.

Give the man a break, there are two thousand voters on these islands, two hundred thousand on the mainland, besides what do you want him to do? magic a helicopter service out of thin air.
We have a conservative government in power who are never likely to provide public subsidy to anything, let alone a transport link to a small bunch of rocks off the Cornish coast

I seem to recall that our MP has tackled our transport troubles before, fat lot of good that did us!
